Laser cutting for food processing
Food-grade stainless steel equipment, conveyors, hoppers and grilles
Food Processing
Food-grade stainless steel equipment, conveyors, hoppers and grilles
Food processing is one of Brittany's industrial pillars, and Baud Laser supports equipment manufacturers and maintenance workshops across Morbihan and the Grand Ouest in producing their stainless steel parts. On our AMADA 4000W fibre laser, we cut 304L and 316L stainless steel up to 12 mm thick, with ±0.1 mm precision: a clean, burr-free cut that reduces rework and makes it easier to assemble sub-assemblies intended for food contact.
Typical parts cover a wide range: conveyor aprons and casings, feed hoppers, filtration and sorting grilles, equipment supports, mounting plates and machine panels for processing lines.
For common features — thin sheet metal from 1 to 4 mm, holes, slots and openwork cut-outs — the fine laser kerf allows complex shapes that are impossible to achieve by punching. The 3000 x 1500 mm working bed handles both small repeating supports and large single-piece panels. We take on prototypes and one-off parts made to drawing as readily as small and large production runs, with the responsiveness needed for line stoppages and urgent replacements.
The smooth surfaces and clean edges of laser-cut stainless steel support strong hygiene and easy cleaning, in line with the HACCP requirements of food production environments. Free quote.

Frequently asked questions
Food Processing
What parts do you cut for the food processing industry?
Baud Laser fibre-laser cuts food-grade stainless steel parts for processing lines: conveyor aprons and casings, feed hoppers, filtration and sorting grilles, equipment supports, mounting plates and machine panels. We handle one-off parts made to drawing as well as small and large production runs.
Which stainless steels and thicknesses do you use for food contact?
We work with 304L and 316L stainless steel, the two reference grades for food contact and humid or corrosive environments. Our AMADA 4000W fibre laser cuts stainless steel up to 12 mm thick, with a fine kerf ideal for the 1 to 4 mm thin sheet metal common in food processing.
Is laser cutting compatible with HACCP hygiene requirements?
Yes. Fibre laser cutting produces clean edges and smooth, burr-free surfaces that make cleaning easier and limit material build-up. These characteristics support a hygiene and cleanability approach in line with the HACCP requirements of food production environments.
What precision and part size can you guarantee?
Our AMADA 4000W fibre laser delivers ±0.1 mm precision and excellent part-to-part repeatability, including across production runs. The 3000 x 1500 mm working bed lets us produce both small supports and large single-piece machine panels.
